UGC-NET Exam Pattern
Here are the latest UGC-NET exam patterns candidates should follow to ensure the best preparation.
- The exam will be conducted in the online CBT mode
- The exam duration is 3 hours given to candidates
- There will be two papers conducted in this entrance exam, Paper 1 and Paper 2
- The exam consists of various MCQs and objective types of questions
- The total marks for this exam are 300 marks
- There are a total of 150 questions asked in this exam
- Exam will conducts in both English and Hindi for understanding of candidates.
- On every correct answer, 2 marks will be given to candidates
- There is no negative marking on wrong answers

UGC-NET Exam Eligibility
It is suggested that candidates first meet their UGC-NET exam eligibility criteria to become eligible for this exam.
Qualification |
The candidate must have a master’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university/ college to become eligible for the UGC NET entrance exam. |
Marks |
Candidates of the general category should secure at least 55% marks in their exam to become eligible. The candidate of the SC/ ST/ PWD/ OC-NCL/ Third Gender category should secure at least 50% marks to become eligible for it before the UGC-NET 2025 exam date. |
Age Limit |
· The age of candidates who are applying for JRF posts through this paper should not be above 30 years old age. Moreover, the reserved category candidates will get 5 years of age relaxation. · For AP posts, there will be no age limit applicable to candidates |
Appearing |
The candidate in their final year and those waiting for their results are also eligible to apply for this exam and take part in it. |
