NTA Ensures Equal Distribution of JEE Main 2024 Candidates Across Sessions, Shifts
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has affirmed its commitment to fairness in the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2024) by diligently distributing candidates across shifts and sessions. Responding to concerns raised by students regarding alleged errors in percentile calculation and uneven candidate distribution, NTA released detailed data regarding the allotment of candidates across shifts during the January 2024 session.
“It was ensured that each shift was equally distributed in terms of candidate count, gender, and category,” NTA emphasized in a statement posted on X .
With a staggering 11,70,036 candidates appearing for JEE Main paper 1 in the January 2024 session, discrepancies were reported in the marks versus the scored percentile. Specifically, students noted a disparity in the number of candidates across shifts, with the January 27 and January 29 sessions allegedly accommodating more students, placing others at a perceived disadvantage.
