The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national level exam designed to assess the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts from class 1 to 8 in central government schools. Conducted twice a year in offline mode, candidates securing the CTET qualifying marks will proceed to the next stage.
The CTET exam is qualifying in nature, and candidates must score equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks to proceed further in the recruitment process. The CTET cutoff set by CBSE is affected by factors such as the difficulty level of the paper and the number of candidates appearing for the exam.
[The minimum passing percentage of the CTET exam for the general category is 60. On the other hand, candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories must score 55% marks to pass the exam. This implies that out of the total 150 marks, 90 marks are considered as CTET qualifying marks for the general category, and 82 marks are considered as CTET qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC.
What is the CTET cut off for Paper- 1 and Paper- 2?
CBSE has set the same qualifying marks for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, which means that general category candidates need to score 60 per cent or more marks to pass the exam, and reserved category candidates need to score 55 per cent or more marks.
Paper 1 and Paper 2 Paper 1 is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates who wish to teach classes 1 to 5, while CTET Paper- 2 is conducted for candidates interested in teaching classes 6 to 8. Both papers consist of 150 multiple choice questions, each carrying a weightage of one mark.
CTET Qualifying Marks for Women
